The Bluetooth Core Specification, version 5.3, has introduced multiple
changes to several widely-used terms in order to make them inclusive.
Update the public API to reflect this, excluding hci.h, which will be

These constants are based on (i.e. exactly as) the
recommended values for regular (i.e. non-periodic)
advertising.
The GAP spec does not actually specifiy these numbers (or any
numbers for periodic advertising), but they are sane
numbers to use for periodic advertisement.

whereas the peridic advertising unit is 1.25ms.

Document the behavior of the include name option when this is changed by
updating the advertising parameters of the advertising set.
In this case we cannot update the advertising data since the host does
not have a copy to modify. The application will have to do update with
its current advertising data.

The HCI specification creates additional complexity to allow this
configuration:
- When a connection gets established, we need to know which
identity the HCI_LE_Connection_Complete event corresponds to.
- The identity is a property of the advertising set.
Therefore we need the advertising handle.
- The advertising handle is part of the
HCI_LE_Advertising_Set_Terminated event and is not part of
the HCI_LE_Connection_Complete event. Therefore
the information of both events needs to be combined.
By spec the LE_Connection_Complete comes first. Therefore we cache
this event until the identity is available.
The event is only cached when a connection gets established as
that is the only case where we need to resolve the identity.
As the caching requires more resources, it is only enabled if the
application requires multiple advertising sets and multiple
identities.
The host maps the HCI_LE_Advertising_Set_Terminated event with
the HCI_LE_Connection_Complete event by comparing the connection
handles.

Prevent the bt_rand function from being called before bt_enable.
Depending on the implementation of bt_rand this function cannot
be called before bluetooth has been initialized. With host supplied
crypto functions the HCI LE rand command is used for example.
The use case for calling bt_id_create before bt_enable is meant for
when the application has storage for the identity instead of the stack.
So we add the requirement that the application has to have storage
for the identity resolving key (IRK) in addition when the local
device is privacy-enabled.

Deprecate the bt_set_id_addr API function. This is merely a wrapper
for the bt_id_create function now, except an IRK cannot be given.
When CONFIG_BT_PRIVACY is enabled an IRK has to be given by the
application because the bt_rand function cannot be called before
bt_enable.

Change the advertising option that controls if the directed advertiser
will use an RPA or the identity address of the peer for the initiator
address.
This option currently has two issues:
- It behaves differently if the privacy feature has been enabled,
which can be confusing for application to use.
- It cannot start a directed advertiser towards a peer that is not
privacy-enabled and has distributed an IRK.
This commit includes the following changes:
- When privacy has been enabled in order to advertise towards a
privacy-enabled peer the BT_LE_ADV_OPT_DIR_ADDR_RPA option must now
be set (same as when privacy has been disabled).
- It is now possible to start a directed advertiser using the identity
address of the peer when privacy-enabled.
- When privacy has been enabled the advertising option combination
of using the local identity address and an RPA as the initiator
address is now disallowed and will return an error code.
This is done because this combination did not actually work and would
have used the identity address of the peer instead.
- If the controller does not support controller-based privacy then
using the option BT_LE_ADV_OPT_DIR_ADDR_RPA will return ENOTSUP
because this behavior cannot be done with host-based privacy.

Remove the BT_LE_CONN_OPT_2M option and update documentation.
This was a misunderstand about the init PHY HCI parameter.
The init PHY in the extended connection create command does not
determine which PHYs are accepted as the initial PHY of the
connection. This is instead determined by the secondary PHY of the
extended advertiser.
The init PHY parameter only specifies which conn parameters are
provided, and since we only provide one conn parameter this option
has no effect.

Attempt to fix C++ error: taking address of temporary array.
According to GCC documentation:
In C++, a compound literal designates a temporary object that only
lives until the end of its full-expression.
Finishing with this recommendation:
As an optimization, G++ sometimes gives array compound literals
longer lifetimes: when the array either appears outside a function
or has a const-qualified type.
But it is probably safest just to avoid the use of array compound
literals in C++ code.
Fix the issue by introducing INIT macros as an alternative, and use
these in the inline functions to avoid the use of array compound
literals in Bluetooth headers.

Add support for multiple advertising set. Move the advertising state
flags to be per advertising set and loop over advertising sets instead
of looking up legacy advertiser set or handle 0.
Since it is not certain that the advertising set terminated event can
arrive directly after the connection complete event there is currently
a limitation that there can only be one local identity used by
connectable advertisers at a time. This guarantees that we know
the local identity being used in the connection complete event.

This patch introduces two major changes to the directed advertising
feature of the bluetooth host.
Deprecating the bt_conn_create_slave_le, and removing
bt_conn_le_create_slave which has never been released. This behaviour
has now been moved by to providing the peer direct address into the
advertising parameters.
Introducing directed advertising support for nonconnectable
directed extended advertising, both scannable and non-scannable.
A bug was also fixed in the the directed-adv command in the shell
when the argument "low" was given. The advertiseng parameter pointer
declared with BT_LE_ADV_CONN_DIR_LOW_DUTY was declared in a scope that
was no longer valid when it was used to start the advertiser.
