Building the sample with IPv4 only gives the following warning:
tcp.c:99:37: warning: array subscript 'struct sockaddr[0]' is partly
outside array bounds of 'struct sockaddr_in[1]' [-Warray-bounds]
data->tcp.sock = socket(addr->sa_family, SOCK_STREAM, IPPROTO_TCP);
This doesn't really seem like a valid one, but to get rid of it
workaround by specifying address family explicitly.

Do not print progress report so that makes debugging things
a lot harder. It is still possible to enable printouts if needed

If the IPv6 address that our socket is bound to deprecates, then
re-create the socket so that we avoid using deprecated IPv6 address.

When connection manager (CONFIG_NET_CONNECTION_MANAGER) is disabled,
application starts right away. Scenario that it covers is when static
networking is used, like with emulators (QEMU, Native Sim, ...).
Since 'connected' flag was not set in such scenario, the internal loop
inside start_client() has ended up early and stop_udp_and_tcp() was called
quickly after starting TCP and UDP clients.
Set 'connected = true', when connection manager is disabled, so that it is
assumed that connection is working for the whole duration of the
echo-client sample.

rand32.h does not make much sense, since the random subsystem
provides more APIs than just getting a random 32 bits value.
Rename it to random.h and get consistently with other
subsystems.

The connectivity monitoring subfeature of conn_mgr is currently also
named conn_mgr, which is confusing.
This commit renames it to conn_mgr_monitor, or conn_mgr_mon for short,
for clarity.

In case UDP is disabled, init_udp() is not compiled and the build
fails. Fix this, by providing dummy implementations for UDP functions,
in case UDP is disabled.

All application level TLS operations should be guarded with
"#if defined(CONFIG_NET_SOCKETS_SOCKOPT_TLS)" and not mbed TLS configs
only. Otherwise, in case mbed TLS is enabled, but the sample is not
configured to use TLS (hence TLS credential library is not available
for example), the build may fail or produce spurious warnings.

Since conn_mgr is a subsystem rather than a library, relocate it
directly into subsys/net rather than subsys/net/lib/
Rename header files to better match their function.
Remove net_ prefix from conn_mgr types, API, and files, since it is
unnecessary.

As both C and C++ standards require applications running under an OS to
return 'int', adapt that for Zephyr to align with those standard. This also
eliminates errors when building with clang when not using -ffreestanding,
and reduces the need for compiler flags to silence warnings for both clang
and gcc.
Most of these changes were automated using coccinelle with the following
script:

k_work_* APIs cannot be used from user threads, hence it has to be
replaced with some other solution to retain userspace functionality in
the sample.
This commit reworks the sample as follows:
* Replace delayed work items with combination of k_timer and a
dedicated thread to send UDP packets. k_poll_signal is used for
communication between k_timer callback and UDP thread.
* As kernel objects should not be placed in a memory modifiable from
user threads, declare a separate structure for them, and link it
with the client context structure with a pointer.
* k_timer_init() is not a system call, therefore it has to be called
from supervisor thread. Therefore, add an additional function to
initialize UDP, and use it to initialize kernel objects used by the
UDP module and grant access for the main thread before it becomes an
user thread. UDP thread inherits permissions from the parent (main
thread).

As of today <zephyr/zephyr.h> is 100% equivalent to <zephyr/kernel.h>.
This patch proposes to then include <zephyr/kernel.h> instead of
<zephyr/zephyr.h> since it is more clear that you are including the
Kernel APIs and (probably) nothing else. <zephyr/zephyr.h> sounds like a
catch-all header that may be confusing. Most applications need to
include a bunch of other things to compile, e.g. driver headers or
subsystem headers like BT, logging, etc.
The idea of a catch-all header in Zephyr is probably not feasible
anyway. Reason is that Zephyr is not a library, like it could be for
example `libpython`. Zephyr provides many utilities nowadays: a kernel,
drivers, subsystems, etc and things will likely grow. A catch-all header
would be massive, difficult to keep up-to-date. It is also likely that
an application will only build a small subset. Note that subsystem-level
headers may use a catch-all approach to make things easier, though.
NOTE: This patch is **NOT** removing the header, just removing its usage
in-tree. I'd advocate for its deprecation (add a #warning on it), but I
understand many people will have concerns.

A common pattern here was to take the work item as the subfield of a
containing object. But the contained field is not a k_work, it's a
k_work_delayable.
Things were working only because the work field was first, so the
pointers had the same value. Do things right and fix things to
produce correct code if/when that field ever moves within delayable.

This fixes an incorrect error message log statement for IPv4 vs.
IPv6 in several net samples.
The error message is in a portion of the files dealing with IPv4
bring-up. If the address is invalid, it logs the invalid address;
however, the IPv4 statement incorrectly refers to ipv6_addr. This
PR corrects it to output ipv4_addr as expected.

The pass/fail return code was not returned to the caller in
Docker based testing so the runner script did not know if the
sample test passed or not.

Unit tests were failing to build because random header was included by
kernel_includes.h. The problem is that rand32.h includes a generated
file that is either not generated or not included when building unit
tests. Also, it is better to limit the scope of this file to where it is
used.

UDP portion of the echo_client sends 1 packet with the sample data.
(TCP can send chunks of it depending on the response of the send()
function.) Not every network interface can send a UDP packet large
enough to handle the size of the sample data.
Let's make sure to account for the network interface MTU when deciding
the amount of sample data to send.

Add Kconfig option NET_SAMPLE_SEND_ITERATIONS that sets the number of
times the Zephyr echo client sample sends its data. By default the
value is zero, which means indefinite, and demonstrates the same
behavior as before.

PSK support is added to echo-client.c and echo-server.c.
If enabled, a header is included which contains the PSK.
If the default dummy PSK header is used, a warning is issued.
The header can be changed via Kconfig.

The `start_udp_and_tcp` funcion is a blocking function, therefore it
should not be called from the system workqueue, as it would stall it.
Because it was called in such a way, the retry mechanism, which
also relied on the system workqueue did not work properly.
This commit fixes the issue, by keeping the main application processing
in the main thread, and using a semaphore to synchronize with the
connection manager.

Current application data size in echo_client sample does not fit into a
single datagram with DTLS enbled for default IPv6 MTU (1280 bytes). This
caused abrupt failure of the sample with DTLS enabled over 802.15.4 L2.
Decreasing the application data size allows it to fit into a single UDP
datagram after encapsulating it into DTLS record.
Additionally, finetune DTLS timeout on echo_server to match UDP
application timeout on echo_client (so that a single datagram loss
does not cauase DTLS session to end).

Remove network specific default and max log level setting
and start to use the zephyr logging values for those.
Remove LOG_MODULE_REGISTER() from net_core.h and place the
calls into .c files. This is done in order to avoid weird
compiler errors in some cases and to make the code look similar
as other subsystems.

Add support for VLANs which are disabled by default.
The application can be configured to use the VLANs by setting
the IP addresses properly in config file. The VLAN support in
this sample application is only meant for testing multiple network
interface handling.
The application can be compiled like this for VLAN support:

integer, the socket file descriptor."
The test in prepare_fds() however fails if socket fd is
zero (non-negative), which should be a valid value.
This was found while testing the SimpleLink socket offload driver,
which can return a zero-valued socket fd, per the POSIX spec.

This finishes refactor of splitting off net_config library name from
net_app library, started in c60df1311, c89a06dbc. This commit makes
sure that Kconfig options are prefixed with CONFIG_NET_CONFIG_
instead of CONFIG_NET_APP_, and propagates these changes thru the
app configs in the tree.
Also, minor dependency, etc. tweaks are made.

This commit adds TLS support to socket echo_client/echo_server samples.
Credentials used are the same as in the non-socket versions of these
samples, therefore they can be easily tested with net-tools utils.
Maximum payload size for the client was sligtly reduced to fit the
encrypted data within 1280 bytes.
