c972ef1a0f kernel: mm: move kernel mm functions under kernel includes
This moves the k_* memory management functions from sys/ into
kernel/ includes, as there are kernel public APIs. The z_*
functions are further separated into the kernel internal
header directory.

Also made a quick change to doxygen to group sys_mem_* into
the OS Memory Management group so they will appear in doc.

fb38b90481 tests kernel: Exclude posix arch for userspace tests
These tests cannot be run in this architecture as it does not
support userspace.
Today they are filtered by kconfig, which works but spends
time running cmake.
As native_posix is a default test platform it is better
to filter it alltogether by arch, which saves quite a lot
of time.

93b63df762 samples, tests: convert string-based twister lists to YAML lists
Twister now supports using YAML lists for all fields that were written
as space-separated lists. Used twister_to_list.py script. Some artifacts
on string length are due to how ruamel dumps content.

0b90fd5adf samples, tests, boards: Switch main return type from void to int
As both C and C++ standards require applications running under an OS to
return 'int', adapt that for Zephyr to align with those standard. This also
eliminates errors when building with clang when not using -ffreestanding,
and reduces the need for compiler flags to silence warnings for both clang
and gcc.

Most of these changes were automated using coccinelle with the following
script:

Approximately 40 files had to be edited by hand as coccinelle was unable to

116998c677 tests: kernel: print FAILED when wrong faults caught
For some kernel tests, faults and exceptions are expected.
They are caught and the test would continue if the reasons
for faults are as expected. However, when the unexpected
reasons are encountered, the code simply prints a message
and calls k_fatal_halt(). When running under twister,
these messages are not the expected failed messages so
twister will spin till timeout although the execution
has already been halted. This adds another printk() before
halt to signal twister that the test has failed and bails
early.

5c32300861 yamllint: fix all yamllint truthy errors
Fix all thruthy errors detected by yamllint:

yamllint -f parsable -c .yamllint $( find -regex '.*\.y[a]*ml' ) | \

This only accepts true/false for boolean properties. Seems like python
takes all sort of formats:

But the current specs only mention "true" or "false"

Which is the standard yamllint config.

Excluding codeconv and workflow files, as some are using yes/no instead

ba7d730e9b tests/samples: use integration_plaforms in more tests/samples
integration_platforms help us control what get built/executed in CI and
for each PR submitted. They do not filter out platforms, instead they
just minimize the amount of builds/testing for a particular
tests/sample.
Tests still run on all supported platforms when not in integration mode.

79e6b0e0f6 includes: prefer <zephyr/kernel.h> over <zephyr/zephyr.h>
As of today <zephyr/zephyr.h> is 100% equivalent to <zephyr/kernel.h>.
This patch proposes to then include <zephyr/kernel.h> instead of
<zephyr/zephyr.h> since it is more clear that you are including the
Kernel APIs and (probably) nothing else. <zephyr/zephyr.h> sounds like a
catch-all header that may be confusing. Most applications need to
include a bunch of other things to compile, e.g. driver headers or
subsystem headers like BT, logging, etc.

The idea of a catch-all header in Zephyr is probably not feasible
anyway. Reason is that Zephyr is not a library, like it could be for
example `libpython`. Zephyr provides many utilities nowadays: a kernel,
drivers, subsystems, etc and things will likely grow. A catch-all header
would be massive, difficult to keep up-to-date. It is also likely that
an application will only build a small subset. Note that subsystem-level
headers may use a catch-all approach to make things easier, though.

NOTE: This patch is **NOT** removing the header, just removing its usage
in-tree. I'd advocate for its deprecation (add a #warning on it), but I
understand many people will have concerns.

c64ac967a8 tests/kernel/fatal: Work around historical API misuse
This test was written to do a k_oops() in the main thread.  That's an
essential thread, and aborting it is actually a system panic now.  The
test was written contra the docs on this, but it worked fine for
years.

Just reflag the thread as a simple workaround rather than trying
anything fancy. This is a very simple test.

8d13be016a tests/kernel/fatal/exception: Remove legacy irq_lock() usage
The irq_lock() API is a legacy API not to be used for synchronization
by new code, and in any case is only being used in cargo-cult fashion
here.  These test cases all do synchronous exceptions, there's
literally nothing to synchronize against.

    (And in this case they're exposing a legacy wart.  On platforms where:

    1. SMP=y, which causes irq_lock() to be implemented as a somewhat
       complicated global lock

    2. No ARCH_EXCEPT() macro is defined, which causes the kernel to
       use a fallback that simply aborts the current thread.

    ...this test will then abort a thread holding the lock, which will
    cause it to be orphaned (if it weren't a legacy API, the kernel
    should probably attempt to clean it up in k_thread_abort(), but it
    is, and it doesn't), so the next attempt to lock it will hang.
    And it's even worse, because this test builds with SMP=y and
    MP_NUM_CPUS=1, so the hand will happen with interrupts masked on a
    system with only one CPU, and everything will lock up solid.)

52a5c08325 tests: enable kernel test fatal/exception for aarch32 Cortex-A CPUs
Add consideration of aarch32 Cortex-A CPUs to a test case in which
architecture-specific assembly instructions are used in order to
explicitly trigger an exception. This test case already considers
aarch32 Cortex-R CPUs, the same instruction will be used by
Cortex-A CPUs.

b70d44c94d tests: fatal/exception: pin stack before stack overflow test
For hardware stack overflow test, pin the whole stack if
demand paging is enabled and generic sections are not all present
at boot. The whole stack may not be in memory at the time of
test, which would result in double fault (exception being
handled + page fault). So make sure the stack is in physical
memory and mapped before doing any tests.

1cccc8a8fe cmake: increase minimal required version to 3.20.0
Move to CMake 3.20.0.

At the Toolchain WG it was decided to move to CMake 3.20.0.

The main reason for increasing CMake version is better toolchain
support.

Better toolchain support is added in the following CMake versions:
- armclang, CMake 3.15
- Intel oneAPI, CMake 3.20
- IAR, CMake 3.15 and 3.20

d058ed3011 tests/kernel/fatal: Don't swap while locked
This test takes an interrupt lock and tries to call z_swap_unlocked()
while holding it.  That's not legal (in the general case it means
you're breaking a caller's lock!), though in this particular case it
was safe because we'll never return to this.

Regardless, there is a natural z_swap_irqlock() that releases the lock
atomically.  Use that.

3d81464194 tests: samples: Add targetted platform_excludes for intel_adsp_cavs15
This platform has a tiny handful of remaining tests that fail.  We
will track them as issues, but let's exclude them from integration
testing to allow full runs to complete.  Often a hung device in one
test will break an entire twister run.

Tests with known (and tracked) failures:

  samples/application_development/external_lib
  samples/posix/eventfd
  samples/userspace/hello_world_user
  tests/kernel/fatal/message_capture
  tests/net/socket/socketpair
  tests/portability/cmsis_rtos_v2

These tests never fail in isolated testing, but are reliable timeouts
when run in sequence in a big twister run.  It's possible that the bug
here may be in twister or the flash/serial scripts:

  tests/crypto/tinycrypt
  tests/subsys/logging/log_immediate
  tests/subsys/logging/log_output

eb3734168a tests/kernel/fatal/exception: Remove ticked kernel from stack sentinel test
The "sentinel" variant of this test runs the same code, but enables
the stack sentinel feature.  Inexplicably, it's also disabling
TICKLESS_KERNEL, forcing a timer interrupt at every tick boundary.

That doesn't seem to be required for any test functionality I can see.

And worse, by changing that setting without adjusting the tick rate,
it runs afoul of more modern platforms which were designed with
tickless operation in mind.  Specifically, the intel_adsp platforms
have a default tick rate of 50 kHz, which is just too fast for
reasonable operation.  It leaves almost no time available for
application code and something falls behind and fails.

Just remove it.

Use of a printk that supports floating point changes the stack
requirements causing kernel.common.stack_protection_arm_fpu_sharing to
fail.  The test doesn't need this capability so revert to nano
formatting.

ea8c4b91b5 tests: exception: workaround agressive optimization
The memset in the 'blow_up_stack' function can be optimized
away as it is called in the end of the function on the buffer
allocated on the stack (so it has 'no' effect on program
execution)

The 'stack_smasher' call can be optimized away as it's results
isn't used anywhere and stack_smasher function has no visible
side effects.

Fix that by disabling optimization on these functions.

8ef34566ed tests: explicitly disable HW Stack Protection when needed
Some ARM platforms, now, enable HW Stack Protection by
default in the Board definition. So if some tests
need to run without stack protection, it is not
sufficient to disable TEST_HW_STACK_PROTECTION;
we need to explicitly disable HW_STACK_PROTECTION.
